Gone to the U S of A

Tina's off to Manchester Airport.
Staying at the Hilton tonight , and flying to JFK in New York tomorrow morning.
She,s already got lost once on the way.
I'm still grafting in the studio while she's having a well earned break.
Loads to do, including wiring, hanging doors and backgrounds. Painting and more timber work.
But it'll be worth it in the end.

Were planning an "open weekend" when were up an running.
were inviting all our previous clients ,and friends of rainbow photography.
We plan to advertise the event locally too.
Refreshments and such will be available, and all our new lines will be on display.
There will also be a raffle of some description too.
The lucky winner probably receiving a free shoot, or other prize of that nature.
We still haven't quite made our minds up yet.
WATCH THIS SPACE.

On my lonesome

Yes.
The Boss is clearing off to the US of A for two weeks and leaving me to the graft.
To be fair, Tinas been working hard for a long time, with little break.
She's having a well deserved rest.
It leaves me to get stuck into the work at the new studio,
without interuptions.Ahahahahaha.
Anyway, i still have the kids to moan at.
Mark.

New York

I am off to New York on Saturday.
We have a wedding to shoot on Friday.
Then I am picking my friend up and driving to Manchester. Stopping over night at the Hilton, and flying the next morning.
Poor Mark.
I'm leaving him to work on the new studio. I have given him a list of jobs to do,while i go off taking lots of photos.
Buffalo, Boston and Niagara Falls on the Canadian side, are all on my list to see.

See you in two weeks

Rain stopped just in time

Someone up there was on our side to day.
The weather has been bad all weekend, but we had some luck just at the right time.

Wet Wedding.

Yesterdays wedding was looking very damp.
Arrived at the beautifull old parish church at Bolsover in Derbyshire.
Midday day, and it was decidedly moist.
As the first guests arrived for the 1pm wedding, the rain started to back off.
By the time the groom arrived, and was duly photgraphed and ordered about by tina, the rain slowed to a trickle.
Bridesmaids arrived and just the odd spot. photographs taken outside church.lovely bridesmaids too.
The bride arrived to barely a drop of rain.
On we went into church, and all the shots were taken.
Ceremony complete. mr had now got a mrs.
Outside and the sun was making an attempt to get out from behind the clouds.
A few shots of the bride and groom, with assorted in laws, and outlaws were taken, then it was decided that the reception venue would be a better spot for the rest of the photography.
More sheltered from the wind, and some amasing scenery.

Off to higham in derbyshire to Santo's farm restaurant/hotel/venue.
The staff were exceedingly helpfull and very proffesional.i dive into the reception hall to shoot the interior and cake, while tina watches (and photographs) the wedding party having there welcome drinks.
We take everyone outside for the group shots.
Both of us marshaling the crowd , while Tina acsends to the top of the fire escape for a birds eye view of the party.
Then off to the rear garden for more family shots.
Loads of shots were taken of all and sundry, and the shot list fully secured.
Then Tina tootles off to the scenery with the bride and groom.then the pretend cutting of the cake, and wedding ring shots inside.

I get the usual large number of requests for shots of babies, children, aunties etc.
which of course i did happily.
Always good fun.
Especialy the shots of a very cute kid and his "doggy".
His mum loved the attention he was getting.
I proceeded to wander around taking the "sneaky " shots with the long lens on the other camera.
Always fun when the bride ands groom see them and say.
"when did you get that one?"

Job finaly complete, and its off to the bar ,as the bridal party hit the reception hall.
I have a coke and tina treets herself to a glass of lager and black, while we go through the shots on the back of the cameras.guess whos driving again?
Pleased with a quick review of our work, we discuss how the day went, and agree its a better venue than we'd first thought.
Even had a natter with Santos , the owner , who was realy chuffed when we asked him to be in a shot with the bride.
Were gonna send him a copy of that shot.

He realy was a brilliant host, and very helpfull.

Back home and Tina starts the transfer of files from memory card to computer. then its time for a rest.
Another tiring, but fullfilling day for Rainbow Photography.
and we didnt get very wet. Well not very.

moving to the new studio

We have moved from grove street to old mill lane industrial estate .

The unit needs lots of work to get it how we want it, but we will get there.
We are planning to have a shop/reception area, studio, work shop, and office.
The unit has an office, store room. and an area that we are going to turn in to a kitchen.
The bathroom is already in,
so work starts on the shop and reception area.
