Kitchen

Its nice to have a kitchen now, complete with cupboards, sink , drain and such.
For a while weve managed with the big Belfast sink in the studio, which can now come out.
Got a couple of doors to mount hinges too, and fit. Plus some bits of trim and a kick board.
Then we can decide what stuff goes in which cupboards.
Oh the fun.
Today has been very busy at the world of Rainbow.
Weve had customers coming in all day.
Jody from Gents and Players has been in to collect her disc of files from her shoot.
Shes very pleased with them, which is obviously good.

Helen, one of the models from Sundays Shades Hair shoot has been in, as has Chris, Shades boss and owner.
Again everyone is pleased.

Paula and Dave, two of our wedding clients dropped in on passing, to see how their album design was progressing.
We also had a visit from Liz , the instigator of the MIND calendar shoot.
Liz brought us in a copy of the completed calendar to show us.

I must say its amazing, and has sold beyond all expectation.
The first batch has gone already, and were going to get some into our shop when the next batch is printed.
Thanks too for the folks at Mind for using a huge full page advert for us, to fill the back page.
All is going well.
Mark.

Virginia Slack.

The wonderfull lady with pink hair is Virginia Slack.
We've just had the pleasure of shooting her advertising material for an "upcoming global campaign".
Virginia is an awesome lady with the sharpest wit known to mankind, a fantastic sense of humour , and an amazing Shirley Bassey like voice.
A lady with real class.
When the wig comes off,she is not Virginia, she becomes Richard Sanders -White.
A really nice guy, who lives in Derby with his husband Peter. Also a very nice guy.
you can contact Richard, to book Virginia on http://www.facebook.com/pages/Virginia-Slack/169824531350?v=wall#/event.php?eid=139222363206&index=1
or phone on 07527 771914
Virginia is happy to do parties or hen nights etc, and will brighten up any event.

Virginia is playing gigs at Curzons in Derby in the very near future.
Including a gig tonite. 27th of September.

Were going to see her in a few weks, and cant wait.

Virginia Slack

The start of Virginia's advertising campaign

Gents and Players Shoot.

As you can see in Tina's last post, weve been a little busy with the lovely Jodie.
Jodie is the lovely lady posing in the pictures, mostly Gangster themed, for the new Gents and Players catalogue.
A fantastic lady to work with, and also part of the management team at Gents and Players.

Coming shortly we will also have shots of another sort of "lady" altogether, who works under the stage name of Virginia Slack.
The pinkest hair this side of a USA old folks home, and more attitude than Grace Jones at "that" time of the month.
puts the GLAM into glamour and belts out a tune like Shirley Bassey.
Stunning shoes, dresses, diamante and make up to make your eyes water.
Looks awesome wearing a feather boa.
off comes the wig, and Virginia becomes , Richard. A really nice chap from Derby, who actually does make some of his own dresses.
We shot Virginia in the studio on Monday night, and we haven't had so much fun in ages. Messing about with Virginia, and her partner Pete.
Even made comment on Virginia's amasing legs.

Photo's to come in the next few days.

Another fun wedding

Yesterdays wedding went extremely well.
We seem to be every fortunate, and always have really nice couples to work with.
Zaya and Mark, were no exception.
We shot their wedding in the beautifull St.Eddmunds church in Mansfield Woodhouse.
The vicar is almost a friend of ours now, after shooting a number of weddings there.
We get the confetti shots as we leave the church, a major flurry today.
Across to the lovely gardens opposite, for the "formals" and a good chance for me to get the sneaky long lens shots of the family, while Tina takes the first few bride and groom shots.
A little organisation of various group shots, and my chance to have a laugh with the guests and make em smile for the photos.
Then were off to the Red Brick House for the reception.
Shots of the interior , cake and such are sorted by myself, while Tina shoots the bride and groom, with various guests, and family.
Inside with the couple to do the cake cutting shots (pretend, they usually do the actual cutting later).
Then its shoot the guests as they formally receive the couple.

we get a sit down and a drink then.
A few more shots of the various people in and out for a breather or a ciggy.
A thank you to the bride and groom, then its off to start reviewing our work at home.

Busy busy busy.

Doing the last minute checks for this afternoons wedding as i type.
I'm nipping down to the studio in a minute to finish fitting the work top and sink to our new kitchen.
The final plumb in will have to wait till tomorrow morning , as a temperamental stop valve has to be freed, before i can cut into the pipework.

We have another wedding on tomorrow afternoon, and a calendar shoot ,with six lovely models ,on Sunday afternoon.
As i said, busy busy busy.

Week off

I have a week off from the "other job" of lorry driver.
So its a week in the studio painting, plumbing, joinery, and anything else Tina needs doing.
Oh joy.
Mark.

I love wedding photography

Another 8 or nine hours on our feet yesterday, and my shoulders ache from holding a camera up all day. But i really do enjoy shooting weddings.
A chance to record such a happy, and sometimes stressful event.
Tina was off to the brides at about 12.30
Zoe , the bride was full of emotion, and in floods of tears, before, and almost during the ceremony.
The tissues got a major workout.
While Nick the groom was nervous, but a lot more in control.
i arrived at his parents house, to find all the guys n gals already dressed to the nines.
This was a full TWO AND A HALF HOURS before the ceremony.
wow , they were keen.
So a fair while was spent chatting and clicking away at a really nice bunch of folks.
they even had time to get in a few practice golf swings in the garden, before the beautiful open top car appeared to whisk Nick and Miff off to the register office.
the wedding itself went very well, with a few tears shed by Zoe, the bride.
The mood soon brightened up after the "i now pronounce you", and then its outside to get showered in confetti, shoot the bride and groom, best man, bridesmaids etc, then off to the Red Brick House, for the family shots , as requested by the b&g, and record the rest of the day as it unfolded.
Thanks again to yet another fantastic bride and groom, who made our day a lot of fun,and were happy to go along with our photographic requests.
And a thank you to all the family for being such a good laugh.
Did i say, i love shooting weddings?

Update

You may have gathered from the latest photo posting by Tina, that theres a few things on the go.
We are now able to offer pet photography to our clients. This is to be advertised soon.
Its been a bit of a menagerie in the studio this week, working on our promotional shots.
Fortunately no one was eaten in the making of this promo stuff.
The gangster themed shoot for a magazine should be interesting, but we cant realy say too much about the magazine yet.
Watch this space.
The lovely Rich, female impersonator is coming in a few weeks to have his act captured digitally.
I am really looking forward to that. This guy is an absolute scream.

The very brave lady and gentleman wearing, erm... not very much, work for a local mental health charity called MIND.
Weve recently shot them , and several other very brave staff,in various stages of tasteful undress for the Calendar theyre producing shortly.

This calendar will help them provide a new minibus to ferry their cutomers to various day centres and such, in the local area.
The poor buses have a very hard life, and as a charity, funds are hard to come buy.
Rainbow Photography have donated our services for free, to try and help out this wonderfull charity organisation.
So please look out for their calendar. we will publicise its release,so keep watching and checking local press for details.

Boudoir photography coming soon.

Rainbow will soon be offering a service to ladies, to capture their image at their sultry best.
They will be able to come to our studio, be made up by a professional makeup artist , and be shot tastefully in their bedroom finery.
Give a thrill to your boyfriend/husband/partner/knight in shining armour.
Shot carefully in the best light, to highlight your best angles, and make you look your best, in the privacy of our studio by a lady photographer.
sultry and sexy as only the best photographers can.
yet tasteful and not slutty.
Unless of course, that's what you want.
Keep your eyes open ladies.

oh, and of course, if theres any fellas out there feeling brave, we can do the same for you too.

Mark.

Hair , photo shoot.

As you can see below,, Saturday (excuse Tina's spelling, she's tired) was a busy evening.
The two lovely subjects of the shoot were clients of New Shades hair salon.
Specialists in colouring and extensions.
beautifully glamourised by Christine , of New Shades.
The ladies came straight from the salon to our new studio.
I'm sure you'll agree that they both look stunning.
Expect to see more lovely ladies, with incredible hair from Shades , in future.
