Rainbows first bike shoot.

Yesterday was indeed an interesting day.
Two proud owners of shiny motorbikes.
Two stunning models.
We had organised the bikes to get to the studio earlier in the morning, and I went off to collect the lovely Toxicity Twitch.
Halo arrived , just about the time I arrived back at the studio with Twitch, and her chaperon.
Everybody piled in to the studio, where various introductions were made, and all indulged in the great British tradition of tea and bickies.
Then away we went with the shoot.
Jen, the owner of one of the bikes looked on, while various poses, angles and lighting adjustments were employed.
Followed by a change of model, and more shots, angles etc.
Then i got the job of moving bikes around, and after a brief tea break, off we went again.
To round off the shoot , we had Halo and Twitch climb onto one bike together.
the girls were very professional., and looked very comfortable on the bikes.
Not a small achievement in the footwear they were using, and hot pants, or even a corset.

Altogether, a very rewarding day, if rather tiring. Some amazing shots were produced, and all were very happy with the results.
We hope to have many more bike shoots in the future , and there appears to be a lot of interest in our new venture.

anyone interested please contact us .

Its only money. and, whats new for the future.

The bank account has been abused again today.
On their way to Rainbow are a couple of boom arms for mounting studio flash heads on the walls in the studio, and a green chroma key (green screen to you) background.

Were working towards upgrading our lighting equipment, making the studio easier to use and better ergonomically . (oooh, big word).

In the very near future we will be making it easier for photographers to hire our studio too.
Discount rates will be available for camera clubs .
Membership cards will be available to regular visitors, who will also get reduced rates.

Earlier in the year , Tina was asked to devise, and teach , a basic photography course at Thoresby Hall Hotel as part of their "experience" breaks..
These were extremely well received, and Tina has been booked by the Warner Hotel Group to teach several more.
We think there are people out there who are interested in digital photography, but find all those buttons and menus a little daunting .
Talk of exposures, apertures, white balance and such can get people a little perplexed .
So, we are looking into setting up basic photography courses, based at our new studio, for those who find photography a little daunting.

This will include everything from compact point and shoots, upto digital SLR's .
keep your eyes peeled and watch our main website for more details..

This weeks wedding Sam and Scott

Sunday 19 July 2009

Another great wedding day.

Its hard work , but i do enjoy wedding photography.
We were lucky with the weather again yesterday at the Warsop Parish church.
The bride and groom were a little stressed and nervous initially, but soon chilled out and enjoyed the day
Thankyou Sam and Scott for being such a great couple to work with.
The family were a huge laugh, and really know how to enjoy themselves. There will be some major embarrassment when some of them see the photographs from the reception at The Tudor Barn.
"dad dancing " comes to mind, and some major soul action too
The vicar was brilliant too..His first wedding, but you would never have known it.
Half the party were nearly in tears for the heartfelt and beautiful speeches from the brides brother, groom and best man.
we finally left at around 10.30 , with the celebrations still going strong.
I bet the sales of parecetomol are up this morning.

a final run through the shot list, and make sure the brollies are in the car .
I hope the weather improves.

Wallpaper.

The shop/reception is now almost fully wallpapered.
Remember the £20 ish per roll paper?(I nearly passed out , when tina told me.
I'm a tight git.)
Tina and her minions have been busy.
I finished work early ish to night, so popped down for a couple of hours.
The trim around the edge of the ceiling is now almost in too.
we have furniture in the shop, shelves up, and even a couple of nice canvas prints on the wall.
The camera recording system is now set up too.
Photos up in a while.

End Of The Week

Photo of the week

This week has been a busy one, ending with a wedding. Its now raining, as i sit editing the photos from today's wedding.

This photo is my favorite photo of the week. We had so much fun with the guests, getting them to blow bubbles at the bride and groom.

Todays wedding

Were off out in a little while, to shoot a wedding in a lovely old church in Pleasley Vale. St. Chads church.
A very late , 4.30 wedding for a change, then off to the Twin Oaks at Palterton for the reception.
All the kit is sorted and ready.
God, you forget sometimes how many batteries you have to charge for a wedding.
Spares for four cameras, and three flash heads, as well as the ones in the cameras and flash heads.
All the cameras set up, and all the memory cards formatted.
Just a shower, final check of the shot list, and the nice shirt and trousers. then were ready to go.
And hopefully , if we get back early enough, and i have the energy left. I will be off to the Intake club in Mansfield for a night of Gothness.
four goth bands and Dj Bret to take photographs of.
I have to have a hobby too you know.
